About

Welcome to the Somerset Levels.

This has been my home for the past 30years. For many of those years I was busy raising my family and getting on with life, as you do not stopping and looking around you, but when the kids grow up and move on, you Do stop and take in your surroundings and this was me a few years ago, I took a few photographs of the Somerset Levels and people loved them and said I had a gift!

I never thought myself as a photographer, I have not had have any training or guidence, and It was at this point that I began to take it more seriously. I have been lucky, just being there at the right moment, thats what photography is all about, catching a moment in time, and enjoying what you have taken and hoping your photos make people smile.

While I am writing this I can hear the cookoo and the elusive bittern in the distance, the starlings and lapwings have now left us ( I look forward to their return next year) and now spring is upon us with the swallows and the warblers over the reeds.

Most of my photos you will see have been taken around the winter months and mostly before 9am. Its a lovely time of the morning, which usually finds me out taking the dog for a walk whatever the weather!

This is a very personal view of this ever changing landscape, and I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I did taking them.

If you would like to leave any comments, or have any questions please let me know,

Tracy.
